Questions About Medicaid Eligibility
Q. How can I find out if I qualify for Medicaid?
A. You will need to fill out a Medicaid application to find out if you qualify:
Q. What do I do with the application when it is complete?
A. You will need to return your completed application to the Health and Welfare office nearest you.
Q. What happens after I've turned my application in?
A. After you turn in your application, your case will be assigned to a Self Reliance Specialist who will check to see if you're eligible. You will be sent a letter within 45 days after you turn in your application telling you if you're eligible for health plan coverage. If you're eligible, you will receive an ID card within two weeks unless you've received an ID card before.
Q. If I qualify for Medicaid or am switching from another agency, do I need to fill out anything to become a Client of AAA Home Care?
A. You can contact the office at 466-3196 and ask for a Coordinator to help you get started or you can fill out an Agency Choice form.
Q. If I don't qualify for Medicaid, what does AAA Home Care charge for care?
A. Our Private Pay rate effective July 2009 - July 2011:

Q. How can I know I will get a Care Provider that suites me?
A. We understand that personalities differ, as do ideals for how tasks are completed, which is why we have your potential Care Provider interview with you PRIOR to them starting care for you. You will let our Agency know if a Care Provider is a "good match" for you.
Q. Are care Providers screened? If so, how?
A. Care Providers are required to take a criminal history background check through the Department of Health and Welfare. This background check includes findings from:
Care Providers are also interviewed by our Care Coordination staff to review their health screen and work history.
Q. Do Care Providers receive any training?
A. Yes. Care Provider's are required to attend an orientation prior to being hired by AAA Home Care, which covers Client Care issues, boundaries, safety and Client specific related issues. Providers must pass a written test with 100% on orientation information. They must also attend a 1 hour Return Demonstration Training with an RN. In addition, Providers must also have caregiving experience adequate to meet the needs of the Clients they will interview with.
